EcoTrans

Automated Intermediate Storage

The EcoTrans is a Reel handling and transport system which provides a highly flexible and efficient means of transporting reels to and from temporary storage locations. The design of the system is based around a main frame which is driven along a set of parallel rails. The frame is equipped with an extendable reel cradle which allow the reels to be picked up or set down on either side of the main frame. Note that the reels can be stored only on a single level and depth layout. During the transport of the reels, the reel cradle is retracted within the main frame. The rails are installed flush with the floor level which provides for ease of circulation for other equipment commoningly used in your facility. The conception of the system avoids the need to provide for an expensive trench for the installation of the rails. The electrical control is integrated onboard the vehicle and power is supplied by means of a steered cable drum where the trailing cable is protected in a recessed canal. The real time data transmission is realised by means of an infrared data transfer system.

Security
The Echo Trans is fitted with anticollision laser scanners on the front and rear to ensure the safety of the equipment.

Functional description
The EchoTrans transports unpacked and prepared reels from the reel preparation area and stores them in temporary storage locations which have been pre-assigned by the reel management system. When the production request's a reel change, the Echotrans selects an appropriate reel from the storage location and transfers it to the unwinder's reel loading device. Reels with a minimum diameter of 650mm can be transported directly with the Ecotrans. Reels with a diameter less then 650mm are transported on a support cradle.

PlanRobotRoll – PRR

With this device fully prepared rolls can be bufferstored on the flat hall floor.

The day-store with Planrobotroll for the handling of fully prepared rolls offers benefits for a rational and costeffective production. Unpacking and preparing of the rolls takes place in the day-shift and the rolls stand ready on-call for the night production in the intermediate storage parallel to the reelstands.

The fully prepared rolls are transferred from the preparation area to the intermediate storage. The Planrobotroll carefully receives the rolls by means of the gripper with lateral jaws suspended from the crane. The allocation of the rolls to the storage locations takes place through the RoAd "Roll Management System" which also keeps track of all roll data right up to the reelstand. The system is also suitable for retrieving return rolls, part-used rolls and also part-used rolls on cradles from the printing press and holding them ready on-call in the intermediate storage for the next production.

TP95/08

Slat conveyors are used for transporting standing paper rolls. They also serve as mechanised storage sections in the buffer and preparation store sector.

Slat conveyor for storage
The slat conveyors with 950mm wide pallets are built in lengths of up to 6m. Several sections are arranged one behind the other to cover a longer section. A wide range of tasks can be solved in combination with moving trolleys, turntables and downender / upender. The slat conveyor is driven by a hollow shaft gear with frequency converter. Photocells and detectors monitor the distance between the left-behind rollers and the end positions. The pulse coded function control serves for monitoring the movement of the conveyor and the transported objects. The slat conveyor can be optimally integrated as an automatic roll storage system. The conveying direction can also be reversed.

TRR

The possibility of holding fully prepared rolls ready in an automatic store permits new concepts in printshop planning.

TransRobotRoll Daily Store

Concept
The day-store with Transrobotroll for the handling of fully prepared rolls offers great benefits for a rational, cost-effective and flexible production. Unpacking and preparing of the rolls takes place in the day-shift and the rolls stand ready on-call for the night production in a high-bay store directly adjacent to the reelstand.

Process
The fully prepared rolls are transferred from the preparation area to the high-bay store. The "Transrobotroll" store vehicle receives the rolls carefully with the specially shaped telescopic forks. The allocation of the rolls to the storage locations takes place through the RoAd "Roll Management System", which also keeps track of all roll data right up to the reelstand. The system is also suitable for retrieving return rolls, part-used rolls and also part-used rolls on cradles from the printing press and holding them ready on-call in the intermediate storage for the next production.
